Designing an accessory for a smooth plastic surface is easy. Designing a brass monocle that sits securely on an irregular, three-dimensional mass of synthetic leaves without slipping into the “eye foliage zone” is an absolute nightmare.

When we started work on the Steampunk Explorer, the monocle kept falling off during stress testing. If the bathwater reached 100 degrees, the plastic foliage would expand by 0.02 millimeters, just enough to pop the brass monocle off with high velocity. During one laboratory test, a monocle launched across the room and embedded itself into a framed photo of our founder.
We solved the problem by inventing the 6-Point Leaf-Anchor System. Instead of clipping to the duck's bill (which doesn't exist on a Bushface, as it is covered by greenery), the monocle features six tiny, flexible brass tendrils that weave between the synthetic leaves, gripping the internal skull chassis of the duck. It can now withstand a 50G acceleration test without losing its Victorian sophistication.
