The Full Story
The Luchador is the direct result of a company retreat to a location that, in hindsight, nobody fully vetted before booking, and which turned out to be within walking distance of a small local wrestling arena. Three employees wandered over on the first night "just to look," and returned four hours later having apparently become deeply, structurally invested in the outcome of several matches they did not previously know existed.
The muscle sculpting went through significant debate internally, with one faction arguing a rubber duck should not have visible abdominal definition on principle, and another faction arguing that if you're going to commit to a luchador duck, you commit fully. The second faction won, evidently, and the result is a duck built like it could, plausibly, execute a suplex on a smaller duck, should the need arise.
The mask design is not based on any specific real-world luchador, a point our legal team was extremely firm about during development, though we will admit the color scheme has been "coincidentally" similar to at least one well-known wrestler on three separate design revisions, each of which was sent back for changes before final approval.

The mask print is crisp and the little wrestling boots are a great touch. My kid insists on giving it a full entrance announcement before bath time now, complete with sound effects.
Bought for my brother who's a huge lucha libre fan, he loved it. Only minor note is the boots are sculpted on, not separate pieces, in case anyone was hoping to customize.
We now have small wrestling matches staged on the break room table during lunch. Morale has genuinely improved. Someone made a tiny scoreboard. This has gone further than it should have.
Because of the pose and the boots, this one tips over more easily than our other ducks. Have to prop it against something. Cute but a little annoying on a shelf.
In the squared circle of novelty bath toys, few contenders arrive with the presence, the gravitas, the sheer chutzpah of the Luchador. He does not simply sit on my shelf. He holds court. My other ducks know their place now. Five stars, no notes.
My son was hoping this looked like a specific wrestler he watches and was disappointed it's a generic design. My mistake for not checking closer, but wanted to flag it for other lucha libre parents out there.
